Cookies & Browser Storage

Understand the storage and third-party scripts visible in the restored website, and how to review browser settings.

Language preferences

Remembering a language

The restored source includes a language-cookie script and the cookie name wp-wpml_current_language. It is used by the multilingual integration. Actual storage depends on the page, script execution and browser settings.

Interface preferences

Popup state

The source includes the promotion-state key popup-promo-clicked. A previously saved state can affect whether a popup appears. A fresh browser session may therefore behave differently from a browser that has already dismissed it.

Third-party integrations

Analytics & support scripts

Some restored pages contain analytics, tag-manager, tracking and chat integrations. Loading a script may involve a request to its provider. Availability and storage behavior depend on the active service configuration; this page does not claim those integrations are functioning or approved for every deployment.

New reading pages

Local article controls

The new article search and category controls run in the page and do not submit the search text to a server. The new journal script does not set cookies or write local storage. Following links to original pages or external sources can involve different scripts and policies.

Review or clear saved data

Your browser’s site settings can show stored cookies and other site data, and let you remove or restrict them. Menu names differ by browser. Clearing data can reset language and interface preferences and may sign you out of an active service. Review the setting for the domain you are actually visiting.

Scope of this page

This description is based on the visible restored source and the newly added journal script. It is not a complete live-cookie audit and does not provide a guaranteed list of names, purposes or retention periods for third-party systems. No consent preference is saved by this page, and it does not claim to control third-party tracking.

Privacy information and questions
